Our property is in the Swatara State Park, AT mile 1185.2-ish NOBO. You can access our property by walking down the shoulder of Route 72. We have an opening in our fence with steps for hikers to enter the property. Signs will point you towards the white shed on the property where everything is located.
* Do not cross Route 72 when you come to the crossing, we are 200 ft away on the same side of the road. Landmark is the Iron Bridge crossing of the AT. If you are hiking northbound (NOBO) and find yourself on the bridge, you went too far!
When you arrive at the property you will find a white shed that we are using as a temporary office/ store. On the side of the shed is where you will find all the information you will need for your stay. Inside the shed there is a sign in/ out sheet on a clipboard. Please sign in on arrival.
The white shed area is the “hub” of the property. Here you will find everything that you will need for your stay with us. including a campfire pit, chairs to relax in and picnic tables. We also have a place to cook a pizza, use the microwave, or coffee pot to make your morning coffee.
We have a decent selection of Re-supply Items, food & drink, Ice Cream available to purchase. We ask that you keep track of what you purchase on one of our “Guest Checks” tablets and pay before leaving in the morning. Please mark on the guest check if you paid with cash or Venmo. Venmo QR code is posted in the shed. If paying with cash, change isn’t always available if we are not on site. Cash payment goes in a green cash box mounted in the shed. Shed is unlocked 24/7 for hiker convenience.
Laundry is $5/load. Additional showers $5. Please help us and conserve water when you stay with us. We have a shallow well and a holding tank for our septic system. Every drop of water that goes in must get pumped out. It is expensive to have done. We ask your help with this so we may keep our rates affordable for all hikers.
Shower/ Bathroom, Laundry/ deep sink are located behind the cabin. The restroom /shower combo is marked with a “Shower Station” sign. The Laundry soap is in a five-gallon bucket next to the laundry. Clean bath towels and washcloths are on a shelf next to the laundry. Soap is in the shower.
The front porch is where you will find two charging stations and chairs to relax on. We ask that you utilize this area only to charge your devices. Please do not charge them in the shed.
